Saint
Louis University is classified as a Doctoral/Research
University-Extensive institution by the Carnegie Foundation for
the Advancement of Teaching and is fully
accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges
and Secondary Schools. The Department of Educational Studies is
fully accredited by the National
Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE),
North Central Association of College and Secondary Schools and
by the Department
of elementary and Secondary Education of the State of Missouri
(DESE).
Regular Saint Louis University Professors
will offer the tutorials for each module. The long distance Master's
degree programs proposed for Cypriot students are the same
in the mission, student requirements, content, courses,
faculty, and rigor as the Master's degree
programs offered at the Saint Louis University campus in
Saint Louis, Missouri. Although there are five areas of Master's
degree programs offered at the home site, the degrees offered
to Cypriot students will be limited
to two of the five areas: MA in Curriculum and Instruction and
MA in Special Education.
The tutorial support for each subject will be delivered in an
identical manner to the same subject
delivered on the University premises by the same regular Saint
Louis professors under the long distance
education. Students will use textbooks and other reading
materials required by each faculty member, as do students at the
main campus. Library resources will
be available to Cypriot students in the form of on-line journals
and databases. The tutorial support will mainly be electronic
communication (Blackboard
web based system) between professors and students supplemented
by tutorial support offered in Cyprus.
Additionally, the program is offered in accordance
with the Republic of Cyprus laws for independent studies and external
examinations, as a long distance program with tutorial support
in Cyprus. |
